Excavation Safety Training

The training aimed at enlightening the delegates about the dangers of unsafe excavations and the need for conducting inspections to ensure the safety of all personnel in or near the area of work. The delegates are taught how to conduct inspection of different excavations, to ensure that all reasonably practicable precautions have been taken, how to monitor the safe condition of the area and how to report and rectify unsafe conditions that may be present, as per applicable legislations and safe work practices of the industry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the session, the delegates should be able to:

• Understand current legislation regarding excavation safety
• Recognizing types of excavations and their associated hazards
• Risk Assessment associated with Excavation
• Testing and monitoring of the soil
• Implement control measures to eliminate or reduce potential risk
• Organizing and implementing appropriate safety control measures including the issue of permit-to-work
• Understanding and implementing Inspection methodology

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

Nominated personnel who are responsible for excavation including the supervisors, foremen and engineers
